Exploring Computers

Using Hyena, I'm able to browse Users, Local Groups, Printers, Shares, etc. on some computers, while on others I cannot. Instead I get a Windows error message stating:

Unable to open network resource. Windows cannot find the network path....

I'm also able to ping the computer name AND IP address successfully.

Any help would be appreciated. This is a great product!!!

For some reason Windows isn't finding those computers when those functions are issued. Windows handles this, and not Hyena.

One thing you can do as a test to try and narrow the problem down would be to enter one of these computers by IP address. This will let you know if you have a resolution issue.

You'll do this by going to File->Manage Object View, click New, then change Type to Workstation. Enter in then Name, and put the IP address for this computer in the Computer Path box. Click Add and then OK. Expand this new object and see if you can get to the information you've been trying to access.
