  • move users to a different sub-domain

I need to move existing users from their current location in my primary domain to a sub-domain on a different DC (same forest). AD won't let me move them, so can I export the user info and then import them to create accounts? What attributes do I need to export to create their new accounts? The e-mail addresses will remain the same and their mailboxes will not move.

    Thanks for any help......

Unfortunately there is no import function in Hyena to allow you to do it this way. Have you tried using Hyena's Move function to see if it will allow you to move them?

I tried the move function but I get an eror from LDAP that the "server will not perform" this task. Oh well.....

Active Directory does not permit moving objects across domains like that. It might be a feature in Windows 2003, but I am not positive. Even if you copied them to another server, the SIDs would be different.
