When trying to add a group to the loal group administrators on an XP box I get an error "Unable to change group membership for "administrator". A member could not be added to or removed from the local group because the member does not exist" I can do this on a W2k box. I currently have 5.0 and downloaded 5.7 to test this with the same results

Verify that the error message you got referred to either the name of the member that you were trying to add or the name of the group itself. For testing, I would first try to do this action locally (or using MMC) to see if you get a similar error.

Was the group that you were trying to add a domain global group ?

I was able to do it through mmc and It was a domain global group but it doesn't work if I just add a domain user either

Send a zipped screen shot of the group dialog with error (move the error popup out of the way if you have to) to [email protected].
