  • Machine local to Domain Global

    Hello,
I have a number of local groups on a server that i would now like to make global groups. Ive got the groups created on the domain, but when i try to do a copy members from the local group, i give it the name of the global in the form of domain\groupname, it errors out saying it cant find the group name.

Am i doing this wrong, or is this not possible? Any other way to go about doing this?

    Thanks,
    Tim

Hyena can't cross group types, but rather can only be used for global to global or local to local.

There is a Windows Resource Kit utility called copygrp.exe that I believe will do this for you.

Could this be a feature request, or is this something thats not possible.

You would know better than me, but im guessing its not as easy as just copying a sid from one place to another?

      Thanks,
      Tim
