There is a KB article that explains how to setup some registry settings to force the AD wizard to format the Display name a certain way.
For existing users that you can to change, you can edit the directory name (cn)
in Hyena, using the Rename function.

New user creation quirk with Display Name
We've just migrated our NT 4.0 domain to Windows 2000 and we're in native mode. When I expand All Users in Hyeana (5.0), they are displayed as Lastname, Firstname (Lastname, Firstname). It looks like it's showing the Directory name and then the Display name second, in parentheses. Now when I create new users in an OU using Hyena, and the AD wizard, they are now displayed as Firstname Lastname (Firstname Lastname). I wouldn't think I'd want to edit the Directory Name (it doesn't look like I can in Hyena anyway) but is there a rhyme or reason that anyone can think why they are displayed this way?Tags: None
