  • Enumerating over 25,000 AD users objects

I'm using Hyena 5.0 on a P4 1.8mhz, 512mb ram and 10mbit ethernet connection to a huge (26,000 user objects) flat Active directory. Eery time I open all users, Hyena locks up. Active directory users and computer enumerates up to 100 object by default. Is there anyway to fix this problem or limit the listing?

What exactly do you mean by 'locks up'?

On the status bar at the bottom, you should see the number of objects Hyena has retrieved. It will increment 100 at a time until all are found.

With Hyena exe at High priority. It slowly enumerates until about 800 objects then I get a (Not responding) message.

Try letting it run for a longer period of time to see if it returns. The Not Responding message just means it is to busy to answer the "Are you there?" question.

If after leaving it run for a longer time it hasn't continued processing, then there might be some issue.

It's going on thirty five minutes now and still no reply. I think this is an issue.

Parital fix. When I specified the ADSI server in the Object View. Clicking the all users drop-down tab enumerated all the objects in the left pan windows quickly without a hicup. Double clicking the All users the first 300 object enumarated and did not respond in the right pane window.
