  • Windows 2000 AD - Delegation

Something is missing ... We finally upgraded our domain to AD and I have modified Hyena to support it but ... There is no option that I can see that allows you to delegate control of OU's etc?

Does this mean that I have to use the regular MS MMC's to do this?

    Am I missing something?

That is correct, delegation will have to be done through MMC.

Will you be adding this feature?

Also - Is there anyway to get the other AD tools such as Sites ans Services to run throough Hyena?

It doesn't look like we'll be able to add these features to Hyena, at least not any time soon.

It's been a while now since this was brought up. Any news on the Hyena front for this feature addition?

Re: Windows 2000 AD - Delegation

I spent some time working on this in the last release and got nowhere. The problem is that the Delegation Wizard is added by MMC and the functionality of setting AD security is so complex and un/underdocumented, we need to use the delegation wizard for this. But I am not sure if there is a way for us to invoke it. Hyena v5.7 has added AD shell menu support, but the Delegation Wizard is an "addon" to the standard shell menu so it does not appear. Microsoft has also told us that they won't give us any help in interfacing to the wizard.
