Reports All Active Directory Properties

Hello...

I was wondering if there was a way to report out all of the Active Directory properties for all of the users on a domain into a comma delimited file, very much similar to what the exporter program does. I need to be able to automate this process, not just capture it one at a time and splicing it together.

To do this, just create (or modify) a query under File->Manage Object View->Queries and include as many AD attributes as you want to into a query. Once the data is displayed, Edit->Select All, and Edit->Copy the data.

Hello again...

Spoken too soon. Using Hyena 4.2 Beta D, when I include all of the fields in the query, Hyena crashed the minute I try to modify any selected use from that listing. Any ideas?

To help me test this, please email your ad_queries.dat file to [email protected].

This file must be the one from your profile directory which is located at like:

<drive>:\documents and settings\<username>\application data\systemtools\hyena

Hi..I'm using 4.3 and am trying to do this to obtain all users/homedir and scripts...I have been unsucccesful. The exporter looks like it's getting everything. IS there an easy way to get this info?

Can you give more details as to what you are wanting to do?

Exporter will give you a delimited text file with the user home dirs and other information. Is there something different you are looking for?

When trying to run a report for users I get the following message
MS ACCESS can't find the datbase file C:\Programfiles\Hyena\Hyenaarpt.mdb

Go to Tools->Settings->Reporting and make sure the path to Hyenarpt.mdb is correct. If you installed Hyena in the default location, this path would be:

c:\program files\hyena\hyenarpt.mdb

Another Admin has this installed and both fields under Reporting are blank, I tried that also but get the same message..any help with this would be appreciated...Thanks!

Rename the database to hyenarpt.mdb, and enter c:\program files\hyena\hyenarpt.mdb in the Path in Tools->Settings->Reporting.

By the error you gave above, Hyena is unable to find the database. Renaming the database to hyenarpt.mdb and entering the correct path on the settings should fix this.

I'll assume this is Windows 2000. If so, you can right-click on All Users and select Tabular Views and then one of the User (Detailed) queries.

You may need to modify the query to get the exact fields you want by going to File->Manage Object View and then Queries.

Once the data is displayed in Hyena's right window, you can do a Tools->Run Report to send it to the database.
