I have a script that I use which uses the net send command to display admin notices to user's desktops. The script loops through a long list of users. My problem is that it takes too long to notify all of the users. I'm hoping that Hyena will allow me to send admin messages to multiple users more quickly than with my net send script. I created a group of users (using usernames) in Hyena, but Hyena does not appear to include the "send message" functionality for sending messages to groups of users. As far as I can tell, Hyena only allows you to send messages to computer names. I want to be able to send admin messages to groups of users (via usernames) so that users will receive notifications regardless of the computer that they are logged into. Your help is much appreciated. Thanks, Roland Graham

Re: How Do I Use Hyena to Send "Net Send" Messages to Multiple Users @ Once?
Thanks for your answer to my question. One thing I'd like to know is if all the users highlighted in the right pane of Hyena receive the message at the same time. Also, is it possible to have pre-defined messages in a text file that you can reference when sending messages to multiple users? (Instead of having to type in a new message every time you want to send a "standard" message.) Once again, thanks for your input. Roland Graham, CAD System Admin

Hyena will send to each user one at a time. You would have to test to see if this would be faster than your current script.
The only recommendation would be to have a file with the message and then just cut and paste into Hyena's Send Message box.
