  • Add DOMAIN\domain users to local admins on 50 w2k workstations

    Hi,

How do I add the our domain's Domain Users group to the local admin group of 50 windows 2000 workstations?

Is there a way to do this all at once (script, multiple select, etc...) or will I have to do it one-by-one?

    Thanks,
    Bubba

The computers can be selected in Hyena's right window. You can display them in the right window by double-clicking on the Computers object in the left window.

After you have selected the computers, right-click and choose More Functions->Add/Remove Group Member.

Your answer is somewhat in the ballpark of what I was looking for. But isn't there a way to browse thru the local groups on the local computer rather than to know what the local groups are by memory and typing it in???

Just like in computer management in windows 2000. U connect to a computer on the network. Go into systems tools > users and groups > etc > etc

My intention is to add DOMAIN\domain users to the LOCAL ADMINISTRATORS group on the local computer but I would hate to type out the name of the groups...

You can do them one at a time by expanding the computer, then expanding Local Groups and double-clicking on the group you want to change membership on.

If you want to make this change for multiple computers, you will need to type in the group name you are modifying and the user or group you are adding.

If you have many computers that you need to make this change on, you will save a lot of time using this method.
