The only option for this is under Tools -> Settings -> View: Integrate browse list with Active Directory computer listing.

Thanks for the quick reply. Yes, both of those are set as you stated. Is there something in Tools > Settings that I have messed up somehow?

Make sure your Computer Browser service is running. Also check that your domain Type is set to Windows Active Directory Domain under File -> Manage Object View -> Objects.

I am sort of having this same issue. I installed a new HDD in my workstation and now all my computer icons are either all blue or all gray depending on if I have the Integrate browse list with Active Directory Listing selected. It used to only have the pingable computers blue and the unpingable computers were gray. That was very helpful for me. Does anyone know what I missed on this install to take away this functionality?

That was the solution. Thank You

I am in an AD domain and I did not have the following setting checked (And, under Tools->Settings->View, is the option turned on to integrate the AD computer list with the browse list?)

    THANKS AGAIN..

The 'SAM' is only used on Windows NT domains, or domains that are entered as Windows domains in Hyena. When using AD, the directory is used for the list. For NT systems, the browse list is always used, and anything found on the browse list will get a blue icon, with computers not on the browse list (but in the NT SAM database) will get the grey icon.

AD computers are always 'blue'. Since Microsoft has de-emphasized the browse list, its not used by default with AD domains, but you can turn it on with the setting that I referenced above.

Its confusing, so if you still have questions, let me know.</span></div></div>

    ComputerList-BlueIcons-Not in Browse List

I am confused about the blue/grey icon for the computers.

I understand that if the computer is found in the SAM account it gets a grey computer and if the merged SAM account list and domain browse list may change the icon to blue.

All of my icons are blue for the computers.

Can you clarify this for me?

    Thanks
