  • Cannot enumerate servers

    Just upgraded a shared installation from 6.7 to 7.0c and everything is working fine except for when you click on the 'servers' icon, I get a "unable to list computers. The list of servers for this workgroup is not currently available".

    I don't get this when I install it locally.

    What could cause this? Is there a file I need to update?

    I have already deleted the profiles of all users that will use hyena, so I know there are no residual settings.

    The Servers folder is dynamically built from your Windows Browse List. This error is indicating that your browse list isn't returning any servers. This could be caused by the Browser service not running, or something else with browsing when you run it that way.

      That's really odd, because I reverted back to 6.7 and it works fine. I had read the previous posts about the nasty browser and MS not releasing code and all that, but I don't understand why it works with an older version of Hyena, but not the latest.

        Go to File->Manage Object View->Objects, click on your domain and take a screen shot of that. Install v7.0 again, and get a shot of the same settings and send all to [email protected].

          I checked and nothing changed from v6.7 to v7.0 with respect to this function. But, its possible that Windows would use a different server from one run to the next on the same function. Hyena only uses the domain name when using this function, so essentially the only 'input' is the domain name.

          One way to see the domain name used is to look at the status bar after the function completes, even if it gives an error. The domain name used is in the status bar message.

            Ok, well, it followed it to 6.7 but that is because it was running on a citrix server that had lost the ability to browse *(stupid MS crap..!) I load balanced the app and it went to the other server and it is fine now.

            Thanks for the QUICK responses though!
