  • Does hyena need domain admin rights to run?

When I try and run an export I get an Unable to open directory object, the server is not operation message.

I am running hyena as a standard user in a windows 2003 domain

To explain alittle more, I am trying to export AD info, groups, users etc.

    Using Hyena 7.0

Insufficient permissions will probably catch up to you, but this particular error seems to be indicating something else is going on. In Hyena, click on your domain object in the left window. This will select it, then go to Tools->Exporter Pro->Export Selected Objects. Click the Settings button and make sure you have the AD exports you want configured, then run the export. Do you still get errors that way?

Yep, that is exsactly what I was doing to run the report.

So likely to be a permissions issue then?
