  • msvcrt.dll error starting Hyena

I was messing around with tools and tried some that I found. Now I get the following error when I try to run Hyena:
    AppName: hyena.exe AppVer: 6.6.1.0 ModName: msvcrt.dll
    ModVer: 7.0.2600.2180 Offset: 0000d572

I have uninstalled Hyena and even gone thru registry to delete Hyena entries and I still get this error. I've been messing with this so much that I don't even rmember what tool I was playing with. Any help is grateful.

Find the following file and either delete or rename it:

    c:\documents and settings\<username>\application data\systemtools\hyena\tools_cmds.dat

See if you can get back into Hyena.

I had the same problem, and after deleting the tools_cmds.dat file, I can launch hyena. However, I cannot add the tools that I want. Is there a workaround for this issue?

The issue more than likely is due to the way you are entering the tools. If you are pasting something in, try typing it in manually. We've seen this where a line break was pasted in, or some characters can cause this. If you still can't get it, email what you are trying to do to [email protected] and we'll test it here.

This problem will be addressed in the next release, but it caused by either a carriage return or line feed in the command, which is not allowed. Only a continuous string is allowed in a tool command.
