  • Windows 2003 SP1 Issues

Is there an issue with 2003 SP1 and Hyena 6.3?

I can view anything on any server/dc that isnt running SP1 but on the servers that are, I get "Unable to access service information. Access is denied"

Do I need to allow any special settings on the 2003 box now it has SP1?

    Regards

    Andy

It looks like SP1 has the Windows Firewall in it, as well as a number of other security changes. Something there must be blocking it. You might try disabling the firewall first to see if that lets you in.

I found on a couple of servers that the service pack set the RPC service to use Network Service account instead of Local System. Check your services and see what account it's using. Most likley if it's using the Network Service then it's not running. Set it to Local Service and restart the system.

Are you talking about the RPC service or the RPC Locator service. My locator (which has manual startup) is set to run under NTAUTHORTY/Network Service. My regular RPC (which starts automatically) uses Local Service.

I am using Win 2003 Server (no SP1). I cannot access Performance/Processor (Access Denied) even though I am in admins and can do most other tasks without trouble.
