  • Search for local user accounts on all production servers.

    Hi,
Is there a way through Hyena or another SystemTools tool to do the following?

I process terminations and would like to find a more thorugh way to ensure that all accounts are disabled. It's easy to do domain accounts through AD, however, we have a large number of production servers that may or may not have certain local accounts. I'd like to be able to do a mass search on the servers for local accounts with username equal to or containing XXXXXX name. That way, I can easily disable those accounts from that screen/query or at least have a report of the servers that the account resides in so I can go to each of the servers that the account exists in.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks much!

There's no way to search for specific local users, but what you can try is to export the local users for your servers, then use Excel to sort/filter for the users you want.

To try that you can select your servers in Hyena, then go to Tools->Exporter Pro->Export From Selected Objects. Click the Settings button then enable Windows NT/Local Users. Click Close and then Start Export.

When it finishes you can click the Open With button and choose Excel from the list to open it with Excel.

Thank you for the quick response. That will help me out tremendously. At least I can pinpoint which servers this user has a local account on and go from there.

      Much appreciated.
