The RAS (Dialup) functions in Windows are badly broken. There is a way to access the AD RAS information directly, but most customers don't need it, so if that is the case, go into Settings > User and turn off the 5th option to 'Show User RAS Information'. If you do need the Dialup settings, let me know.

I am getting this error - Unable to access Ras information for user xxxx on xxxx. Class not registered.
I have gone into Tools, Settings but do not have the User option.
Any ideas??? Help is appreciated. How do you register a Class??

Are you able to view other information from the "server" mentioned in that error message? RPC errors are typically communication errors, so check to see if you can view any other information on that server.

We are running Hyena 8.8 rev E in Windows 2008 R2 domain, installed on a Windows 2008 R2 server (not domain controller).
We do still got this error:
Unable to access ras information for user "user" on "server" The rpc server is unavailable.
    Should this work now?

Such an easy obvious answer! (it worked)

Love the tool and appreciate your very quick response.

Re: Unable to access RAS Information for user XXX on svrXXX Class not registered

From what we had understood, Microsoft removed RAS management from newer clients like Windows 7. For that reason we've been recommending that you go to Tools->Settings->User and uncheck the box to Show RAS (dialup) information to make the error go away.

We recently found, though, that something in 2008 seems to correct the issue in some cases. So, for now you can uncheck that box to make the error go away, but once you finish migrating your controllers to 2008 it would be worth a test of turning that back on again to see if it works at that time.

our environment is switching from windows server 2003 to windows server 2008.

I now have windows 7 installed and was able to get exchange 2003 tabs added (what a pain)

after that hurdle i installed Hyena 7.1b (what we are licensed for)

See the domain and objects just fine.

however whenever i go to properties of an object i get the error message "unable to access RAS information for user XXX on SVRxxx Class not registered"

    any guidance or hints appreciated
