Re: Can't access printers on Win 7 systems.

sc.exe worked, at.exe worked, and schtasks.exe gave access is denied. I know it has to do with some remote access service but I cannot find which one.

Try the RPC buffer size registry setting change as outlined here:

Will this work in Windows 7?

This typically applies to servers with large numbers of printers. But in this case it is worth a quick test to see if it helps.

Also, you said you are a domain admin, but did you try the suggestion above to use the Run As Administrator option in Windows 7?

Re: Can't access printers on Win 7 systems.

I used Run as Different User because the local admin does not have access to the domain. I am trying to access other win 7 systems on the network. Everything else works except Printers. I even had to enable remote registry on each Win 7 system to look at their registry.

View the Properties for your Hyena shortcut and you should see a Compatibility tab. Check the box to Run this program as an administrator. You will still have the option to Run As Different User when you start it.

I looked and it is already checked.

I believe I have found the solution. I had to enable "Allow print spooler to accept client connections" Under Group Policy - Compuer Configuration - Administrative Templates - printers. Now I will try to set it up in our domain GPO. I will let you know how I made out.

Thanks for the suggestion. This fixed the issue for us.
