  • How to display Hotfixes on Win7 systems

    We are just starting testing with Win7. Using Hyena 8.5, the properties pages on a Windows 7 PC (x64) don't display any Hotfixes. Other systems running XP, 2003, etc. report OK. Is this a Win7 lockdown issue? Something that needs to be enabled on Win7?

    Thanks,
    Richard

    There is a file in your Hyena directory that has paths in it:

    hyena_hotfix_list.dat

    Open that file to see the paths it looks at.

    More than likely Microsoft is putting that data in a different location for 64 bit systems. Unfortunately we aren't sure where. If you can find the registry locations you can add them to that file.

    The only other option I can see would be to use:

    WMI->Execute Query->Hot Fixes

    The WMI engine "should" be better at retrieving this information and not depend on hard-coded registry keys. Plus, you can select multiple computers and run it.
