  • Home folders with broken SIDs

I have several thousand home folders, some of which were owned by users whose accounts have since been deleted. This is evidenced by the plain SIDs listed on their folder security. There are too many for me to go through individually so I'm try to find a report/query that will list these occurences, preferably into something I can sort. What can I do about this?

    Thanks!

I can't think of a way to so this (now) because Hyena will report an error when scanning the folders and displaying the security. But I think this area can be improved because there isn't anything meaningful in this error message.

What we can try to do in the next beta update for v8.2 is to add a checkbox on the View NTFS Security option to either ignore or show the deleted entries. That way, you can do something with the information. We can even display the S-XXX SID too in case that is something useful.

Thanks. I can note the individual error but that gets tough after so many hits. If there's a way trap add to a report that would be great!

Another approach would be doable for me if I could lock this setting in:
If I right-click a folder (and in this case the folders are all on the same tree level so I can arrow up and down quickly in Hyena)I can select "View NTFS security" which gives me the same info. Unfortunately I have to re-right-click NTFS security view each time I arrow up or down to the next folder. Is there a way to "hold" the view option?
