is there a way to keep the settings i select from the query dir attributes (for computers and users)? for example for computer i have selected dir name, description, service pack, pwd last set. it seems to work only on the present view, if i go somewhere else they dissapear and need to go back to the queries again to bring them back. also service pack and os dont show up on the column options, just the other ones.

I don't quite understand. Give us step-by-step instructions of what you are doing.

      Re: computer queries

ok - i click on the 'computer' ou - go to 'query active directory'- 'select customize query' - under 'attribute category' i select 'computer attributes' in the left side 'query directory attributes' are some options already there like directory name, description, etc. i add from the computer attributes the 'OS' and 'service pack' option. then i click 'OK'. in the right side i only see the options that were already preselected. i dont see the os nor the service pack options i just added.
i have added another selection the 'pwd last set' this option appears on the right window but if i go to another ou and come back to the computer one the option does not longer appear just the 'directory name and description' shows up.
is there way to save these queries so they show up all the time? also is there a way for the os and service pack to show up as well?

under the ou 'users' all the selections appear on the right window but they dont get saved either, i need to go to the properties of the ou and select query ad - customized queries then click ok - then the options appear again.
i hope i explained better this time
      thanks

        Re: computer queries

Go to Tools->Settings->General and look at the bottom two boxes. Do you have anything specified in either of those?

under the general tab i have checked the 'automatically add current domain to object view', 'automatically expand current domain on startup', 'automatically refresh disk space information', and 'automatically refresh print job information'.
          the bottom part is empty

Okay, then go ahead and send screenshots showing before the change, the change you are making, and then after to [email protected]. Maybe we can spot something in the screenshots to help.
