  • Adding text to a value

    I would like to add text to the desplay name. while keeping the origanal text there
    here is what I have
    John smith ct
    Chris Ama ct
    chris smith ct
    I would like to change it to
    john smith ctr
    chris ama ctr
    chris smith ctr
    I have about 200 ueser that need this change
    is there a way to do this.

    Is that the exact change you want to make? We don't have a search and replace feature, but if you are just adding a character to the end like your example, see if these instructions will work for you:

    Select a few test users in Hyena's right-hand window, then right-click and choose Manage Directory Attributes. In the Attributes window scroll down and find displayName then double-click on it to add it to the left, then click OK. Click the Modify button, and in the box at the bottom enter:

    %displayName%R

    This will take the current displayName value and add the letter R to the end (using your example). Click OK to apply the changes then look at the users you modified to make sure it is the way you want.

      Thank you that did work
      I had to change something eles. what I used was %cn% and add my text to the end of that
      In the desplay name I put this %cn% cd1. it worked like a champ
