how do i add a phone contact to the user account?

  • how do i add a phone contact to the user account?

    When editting a user account, under the contact tab, I cannot add a phone contact. The radio button for it is grayed out. All the other radio buttons are accessible.

    That indicates you already have a Phone contact and can only have one. Either modify the existing one or use the Other Phone contact to add additional entries.

      Keep in mind that this is an AD limitation and/or feature. All of the contact-related fields can only have one value, but there are 'other' equivalents for each one that can hold multiple values.

        I'm not sure what you're saying is correct here.

        If I try and create a brand new user account in AD and go to the Contacts tab, the "Phone" radio button is grayed out. All of the other options can be selected.

        Since this is a brand new user, how would it already have a phone #?

          Are you using the New user function, or copying an existing user? The only way I can duplicate this is if I copy a user that has a phone specified already. Then the new user will have that phone number as well, and when I try to add a phone contact Phone is grayed out.

            It looks like it was an issue with 6.6. I upgraded to 7.1B and the problem is resolved.
