  • Open files on a server

I have service desk techs that I would like to have the ability to disconnect a user that is tying up a file on a server using the open files option in hyena. What is the minimum rights they need to do this? Is there a way to let them do this without giving them administrator rights on the server?

They would at minimum need to be Server Operators on the server to use the open files and file connection close functions. At least, according to Microsoft's documentation.

Server operator is only used in server 2000, isn't it?
      This is a server 2003.

My 2003 server has a Server Operators local group, but it is in a domain.

This is Microsoft's documentation on the 'close open file connection' API:
