Not sure what you mean by it dropping off the domain. If its a standalone server and no longer part of the domain or not accepting credentials from the domain, you should still have local admin access, but your admin account has the @ in the name, ( preventing local logon presumably). But that should not prevent you from remotely setting up a connection using this admin account.

Did you try using Logon As with Hyena to this computer ? You can even use it by IP address as well, but you would have to create a manual entry in the GUI for that.

I would just change the username. You don't have to log in to do it. As long as the computer is turned on and connected to the network, you should be able to remotely rename the account. Bad username contains an @ sign !!

Is there a way to change the administrator username if i cannot log on to a server 2003 box? A previous administrator changed the local administrator's username to [email protected], because of the special character the system will not log me on, today someone deleted the domain computer account so i cannot use the domain admin credentials to log on and because of the special @ character it will not let me logon. I used ERD commander to change the password thinking that was the problem but once in with ERD i noticed the @ character in teh administrator's username. Is there a way i can create an account with hyena or booting with a boot disk?
