How do I export a list of groups?

Scenario:
I have a number of groups in a single OU. I need a text listing of these group names, and ideally their description field as well.

How do I do this? I have Hyena v7.2

You can double-click on the OU to display the groups in the right-hand window. There you can do a Ctrl-a, then a Ctrl-c to open the Copy List Window. That allows you to save the list to the Windows Clipboard and you can paste into Excel.

Is there a way to filter my result? i.e. we have security groups wtih a prefix DEPT-xxxxx. Is there a way to retrieve only the security groups which follow that naming convention and then be able to export to the list to excel?

Yes, after you display the information in the right window, click on the Filter icon on the top toolbar. Then in the box above the first column header enter in DEPT- and hit enter.
