  • Accessing Printer From print server.

I am trying to generate a report on what printer and printer drivers are installed on a print server. Print server is windows 2000 sp4. I get below error when I try to make connection.
Unable to list printers on \\servername, Error= 1727. The remote procedure call failed and did not execute.

Does this server have a large number of printers on it? If so, see if the link in the last post on this page helps:

I do not see the below entry in regedit.
      MaxRpcSize
      HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print

      Data type Range Default value
      REG_DWORD 0x0 - 0xFFFFFFFF (in bytes) 1048576 (1 MB)
can I go ahead and create one and restart the print spooler.

From the instructions it looks like you can go ahead and create it, yes.
