  • exporting OU from one domain to another

My company is in the middle of a sale. I have already setup a separate domain that is not being routed anywhere at the moment. I need to import several OUs and all objects within them in the current domain to our separate domain. We have way too many users, servers, PCs, groups, etc. to do and was wondering if there was a way in Hyena to do it. FYI in our current domain our branch's (OU) IT folk do not have domain admins rights. I currently am running v7.0.

Unfortunately there isn't any way to copy directory objects in Hyena. The only way to really copy directory objects is with the CSVDE and LDIFDE commands, which you can find information on Google on how to do this.

      You can use Microsoft's GPMC sample scripts (C:\Program Files\GPMC\Scripts) CreateXMLFromEnvironment.wsf and CreateEnvironmentFromXML.wsf.
Those scripts will recreate all objects (OU tree, Groups, users, GPOs). Very usefull to create a Dev environment !!

Will this work if we don't have trusts setup between the 2 separate domains?

        Thx
