If I have 3000 global groups in AD and want to run a report in Exporter Pro on only 50 of them can I create a file for Exporter Pro to read to only report against the 50 groups I define?

If so How would I do this?

One option is to select those groups in Hyena's right window, then go to Tools->Exporter Pro->Export Selected Objects.

If that is too difficult given the number of groups you have, you can try this method:

Select 2 or 3 groups in Hyena's right window, then go to Tools->Exporter Pro->Export Selected Objects. You can cancel that because it will have already updated the file.

Go to your Hyena directory and find a file called hyena_exporter_pro.dat. Make a copy of that, then open the file with Excel. This let's you see the format of the file, and from there you can copy one of the lines down for however many groups you need. You'll have to manually change the group names and the path to reflect the groups you want.

Once you do that, save the file as a tab-delimited text file. There might be a setting somewhere in Excel to stop this behavior, but what I had to do was open the file with Wordpad and replace all " with nothing.

From that point you can run Exporter Pro and go to the Configuration menu and choose Assign Object File. Pick the file you created and click OK.
