  • Group members including groups.

I can get a nice, pretty list of group memberships, as long as the member is a user. If that member is a group, it doesn't seem to be showing this.

I need this information in both AD and NT domains.

Can you give more details on this?

      Re: Group members including groups.

I go into Hyena, run Exporter and choose to export all groups and members. When I go in, I don't get any memberships listed for groups.

      Example:

Group abcgroup1 is a member of abcgroup6. If there are user objects listed as members of abcgroup6, it will show them, but not abcgroup1. If there are no user objects listed as members of abcgroup6 and only nested groups then nothing shows up. I don't have a problem with empty groups not showing up, but I do need to get group memberships listed, users *and* groups.

Use the Exporter Pro option instead under Tools->Exporter Pro. The regular Exporter option won't have any clue about nested groups.

I'm trying that right now, but it's a rather large environment.

I don't necessarily want it to follow the path through nesting, as that could get really complex when we hit the resource domains, with SID history and such, just want it to show me the group memberships, with both groups and users. I can extrapolate everything else out with some scripting against the data.

It won't expand out nested groups unless you go into the options and actually enable that option.
