How doe I use Hyena to report on what 2000Professional workstations have a certain MS security patch installed (Like MS06-001)?

Exporter Pro has a Hot Fixes & Patches template that you can use to export all hot fix information for your computers. If you cna find the registry path for the specific patch you are looking for you can create your own template in Exporter Pro to just export that key.

You can also use (if you have the Enterprise Edition of Hyena) the WMI Quick Fix Engineering query to get a list of hotfixes. That is Microsoft's term...not mine. YOu can run this query on multiple machines interactively, or use Exporter Pro to do it in batch.

I am new to Hyena...how do I select multiple machines in Exporter Pro to run the Hotfixes template?

You can select the computers in Hyena, then go to Tools->Exporter Pro->Export Selected Objects. Click the Settings button to configure the export you want to run.

When I try to specify a particular key, I ge the response : "Unable to open registry software key on..." Is this a permissions problem? Can I give Hyena the authority of the local admin on the workstations?

See if you can scroll over and find out what the rest of the error message is.

That's it...it gives the name of the workstation (which I did not include).

Send a few screenshots showing the steps you are taking, options you are selecting, etc to [email protected] so we can see what's going on.

I figured out the problem. I had one too many slashes in the path.
This report is working very well and the more I play, the more I discover what I can do.
                      Thanks for your help.
