Re: export acl from a user object
Thanks! That would be very cool. I was able to get what they wanted using the method you sugested. i had to write a kix script to append some data from another file i was able to generate using the exporter. It seams to work ok. Just dont have a way to automate it yet.
Thanks for your help!

At this point you can't automate this, but we have future plans of adding directory security to our Exporter Pro. At that time you can schedule a batch file that runs the Exporter Pro command line.

Re: export acl from a user object
Ah, good idea. Do you know if it is posible to automate this somehow? I have a fealing they will be asking for this data at least once a week for some time to come. I was trying to figure out if i could use a script if hyena did not have the ability but no luck there ehter. What i realy need is the legacy nt domain user accounts attached to the user objects in each ou. They are using ad for exchange but not for authentication yet and still need to map a nt user to a nt account for some old apps we have.
Thanks for the sugestion. that at least will get me going.

What you can do is select your users in Hyena's right window, then right-click and choose Account Functions->List Directory Security. This will display this for all the selected users, and you can save that out to a file or the Windows Clipboard with a Ctrl-c.

export acl from a user object
Hi, i am trying to figure out how to export the acl of a user object. I can find the information i need buy clicking on a user and using the "list directory security" action from the context menu but i cant figure out how to use the exporter to do this for all users in a OU. I need to do this to provide some info to another group in my company.
Thanks!Tags: None
