  • OK, So I Admit I'm Lazy. Now That's Out Of The Way...

What I'm looking to do, since I'm no scripting wiz or programmer, is to document my new employers network, just the servers. I know how to get most of this info out of Hyena already, however there are webservers here with LOADS of websites. How do I get Hyena to list the websites? Could I get it to list them by www.x.x format? Possibly even include the sites IP with it? Will Hyena even do this?

Thanks in advance for any help!

Unfortunately Hyena won't do this for you.

Is there possibly a "yet" in there?

From what I understand there's no way for Hyena to get to that information.

I used Exporter to get the IISAdmin service of all servers, and the WMI to get the _SERVER and IPAddress info. Put this info into Excel and run a VLOOKUP to match the ServerName from IISAdmin to the IPAddresses of WMI.

This will give you your WebServers, and their WebSite IPAddresses.

Now, dump your DNS Zone (if hosted by a 3rd party, ask them for the dump), import it into Excel, and compare the IP Addresses to the DNS Names.

Sounds like alot of work, but once you get the formulas written, it only takes an exporter process and a DNS dump to retrieve the information.
