  • Special 'Groups' of computers

I manage about 200 computers (out of 1,500 in the Domain) and they are spread out among 25 remote locations.
How can I create a special 'Group' of just my computers to manage/check up on them?

There are are few ways of doing this:

    1. If you are in an AD domain, you can add the computers into a special group. Computers in AD are just another directory object and you can assign them to groups just like users. You would then simply go to that group and manage them from there.

    2. Alternately, again if you are in an AD domain, you can put these computers into an OU and manage them there.

    3. Regardless of the domain type, you can create an Object Grouping in Hyena's Object Manager (File->Manage Object View) and then put these computers in the object grouping. To put them in there easily, create the object grouping, then exit object manager, display the computers, right click on them, and select Add to Object Manager. Then, simply move the computer under the object grouping, and click the 'Right Group' button.

Let us know if you have questions.

      Excellent.
