  • Multiple Search results

I wish to search for users with home directories to a certain server path.
I assume i can use exporter pro to produce a report on paths, i can then sort that list and then with the results call up each account and make the changes,

however given many of my accounts are in different containers within our AD structure, how can i display 50 or more user accounts so i can then do a modification of the home drive path to affect them all,

I know i just simply need to highlight the users i want then click properties, however when they are in different folders, is there an easier way to do this?

Hope this all makes sense, there are serveral questions i have tried to explain as one.

    Re: Multiple Search results

To do this, you need to display all of the user accounts in Hyena, then sort/filter on them, then select Properties to do what you want to do.

To get all user accounts from all OUs, click on the main Containers/OUs object to display the OU toolbar on the bottom of the screen. Click the first button down (Traverse Containers), then click the red Up Arrow (deselect all), then click the User toolbar button. This will make Hyena only find user accounts in all OUs. Double-click on the Containers/OUs object and Hyena will get all of the user accounts. You can also run any query that you have defined.

Let us know if you have any questions.

That has worked perfect and i can display all accounts, however the filter function only allows me to filter a few fields.

How can i filter via other fields. i.e. Home drive path

The Filter functions work off the data in the right window, so you'll need to display the additional fields. One way you can do this is to select the users after they are displayed in the right window, then right-click and choose Tabular Views->User (Detailed). That query includes Home Directory information and you can filter on the additional fields.
