  • Creating Multiple Users

We are in the process of looking at purchasing Hyena, but I have a question. We need to create over 5000 users and they will be going into different OUs and different groups. I have templates created for each type of user but was wondering if there is any way through Hyena, or user commander that I could create these new users based off of an existing template. From the looks of user commander, I can create the users initially but would have to run another process that would add them to groups. Also, not sure if they would be put in their proper OUs this way either. Thanks in advance for any help.

User Commander would be the only solution we offer. It will create the users in the default Users container, so you'd have to move them after creation. As far a groups, yes you would have to run a second pass to do that.

How about an issue wherein my text file contains users that would be placed in different groups according to their school they would belong to. Is there any way in user commander to look at a specific field, i.e. school code, and based off of that add them to certain groups?

Unfortunately not. It will only make the modifications from the fields in the input file.
