I use them for backups, so I don't see why it would not work. The easiest way to get the files onto a USB stick would be to install Hyena onto any computer, then copy all of the files in the Hyena installation directory to the USB drive (or create a directory on it). When you run Hyena, it will copy all of the files that it needs to from the installation point to your profile.
You may be asked for a license key, but if you copy the file named REGISTER_KEY.DAT from your profile directory (scan you hard drive for it), to the USB source directory, then Hyena should use it.
