  • Logging NTFS Folders

Is it possible with Hyena to create a report which lists all shared folders with their associated NTFS permissions & Share groups on a NT4.0 Domain.

If the above is possible, how do I create a report please?

    Cheers,

    Troy

You can view NTFS information for shares by right-clicking on them and choosing View NTFS Security. This can also be done for multiple shares by selecting the shares in Hyena's right window, then right-clicking.

Thanks for the reply. Is it possible to automate this process and create a report?

      Cheers,

        Re: Logging NTFS Folders

There's no way to automate this, but you can report on the results after you've run it by going to Tools->Generate Report or by using the Copy List Window.

I have a similar question to Troy but want to run a report on an NTFS folder that is not shared withing a Win2K environment. The goal in mind is to run a report that lists security attributes on each folder for each group membership...is this possible or does the folder need to be shared? Thanks for your response.

It doesn't have to be shared as long as you can see the drive that the folder exists on. For example if the folder is on the E: drive, then you can expand the computer in Hyena and go to Shares, then the E$. Find the folder you are interested in and right-click and choose View NTFS Security.
