username and OU'S

    Is there anyway that the ou that a username is under be listed out.

    people move users into different ou's and it would be nice to be able to find out which ou it is under by some sort of report.

    You can modify a query to include the DN, which includes the OU or container the account is in.

    To do this go to File->Manage Object View->Queries. Click on Users (Summary), then in the lower right change the Attribute Category to General Directory Object Attributes. Select DN then click Add and OK. Double-click on All Users and you will now have a column labeled DN.

    You can export this to Excel for further sorting and parsing.

      how can I select=all of the fields.

        Once the information is in the right window you can do a Ctrl-a to select all records, then a Ctrl-c to open the Copy List Window. This will allow you to save the data to a file. Don't worry about only the first column being selected when you do a Ctrl-a, because it will copy all fields.
