A problem I have run into is that we have 3 Domain controllers they can log into all running win2k. It seems that the pwdlastset does't get replicated to the other DC's. They are all on the same domain. We have a mix of NT, 2000pro/server and 2003. So I have 2 questions.

    1. Does this setting get replicated to the other DC's?
    2. If not is there a way to grab the info from all 3 DC's and compare the data?

You should be able to tell based on known working computers. You might be able to search Microsoft's Knowlege Base if you need a more definitive time.

I have dates going all the way back to 97, is there a way to know how often computers set their passwords??? I am just going to disable them to start with and not delete them but i don't want to make it to disable active Pc's

What you can do is right-click on the Computers object for your domain (not the Computers OU, but the Computers object further down) and choose Tabular Views->Computer(Detailed).

This will display the information in the right window and you will look for the Pwd Last Set field.

Computers set this password periodically (30 days maybe?), so you can find the computers that have a last set date older than what appears to be normal.

List of Computers no longer in use

Looking at the Computers that are in the Computers OU (Windows 2000) i see way more computer accounts than what we actually have. Is there a way to get a list of the last time a Computer accessed the network?? Or a easy way to figure out which computer accounts are no longer active???
Working...
