Send Message to Multiple Domains

Does anyone know if you can send messages to multiple domains? If so, what are the criteria needed, one-way trusts? Two-way trusts? Admin rights on other domains?

You can send a message to a domain by right-clicking on the domain and choosing Send Message. This will send to all computers on that domain. You can do this for each domain that you have added to Hyena's view, but you'd have to do them one at a time.

As far as security required for this, I'm not sure if there is any requirement to receive messages this way, but it would be easy enough to test. Worst case you could create a duplicate account and password matching yours in each domain. This would keep you from having to create any trusts between them.

Hyena uses the same mechanism to send messages as the "NET SEND" command. Go to a command prompt, and type "net send" and look at the syntax. You could probably create a simple batch file that could do all of your domains in one pass.

So by right clicking the domain, it will go to all computers in the domain, as opposed to sending to all users? For example, if I do a net send to a username (joeuser) and joeuser is logged in to multiple computers, he will get the mssage only on one of them, but by selecting the domain through HYENA it will go to all computers in the domain regardles of who is logged in?
