  • Unable to Conect to Registry

When trying to connect to various PC's both XP Pro and Win2k Pro, I get the error message of "Unable to connect to registry of '\\PCname'.

    Any ideas why?

That's quite an old post, so I'm not sure what the issue was. Give us some details and we'll see if we can help.

Re: Unable to Conect to Registry

I go to the properties on a compter and click on network for example and I get this error

uanble to list transports on, then the computer name. The network path not found.

I know the computer is on because I am sitting right beside it.

          I click ok.

then I get the second error:

          unable to connect to registry.

What do I need to do to fix this??

          Thanks

          Andy

          I am using 6.3 Hyena.

"Network path not found" is indicating that it can't find the computer. You might have a name resolution issue, but if it is an XP computer I would check to see if the Windows Firewall is running and blocking you. Also make sure the Remote Registry service is running.
