  • Disk Size for all Servers

I am trying to get a list of disk size for several (but not all) of my servers. Under Servers in the domain, I have tried to Ctrl-click (based on what I had read in this forum), but that doesn't seem to select multiple servers. I think I am doing something wrong... any thoughts?

    thanks,
    Val

To do any multi selection, either using the Control of Shift keys, the servers must be selected from the right (list) window, as only that window supports multi-selection.

Ah - that clarifies where my problem was and gets me half way to what I am looking for. I want to include the domain controllers in this list, and as they don't appear on the servers list, rather on the domain controllers list, I am not able to do it. What do you suggest?

      thanks!

Assuming that you are using the latest release, you should be able to multi-select the computers from the Computers object, instead of the Server/Domain Controllers listing. Let me know if that does not work for you. Or, just do the operation twice. To get the data into Excel, just Control-A, then Control-C the right window once you get the disk space display.

Makes sense - I will do that. One final question then - as I will have to search through the list of all computers to get the servers I wanted, can I save the selections in the right hand window so that I can do that report again without having to search?

          thanks,

No, you can't save your selections, but you can select the computers, and then from the menu select "Add to Object Manager". Then, select all of the computers in Object Manager, and click the button labeled 'Right', and then create an object grouping (label) and position it above these computers. This will create an Object Grouping in Hyena which you can then manange all at once. Let us know if you need more explanation (its hard to explain sometimes)

I think I've got it. In the same way that "Servers" or "Domain Controllers" is an object group that is a subset of "Computers", I can create my own subset with my own label (i.e. maybe "Storage Servers") to use as I wish.

I will let you know if I have any problems with that.

              Thanks for you help!
