  • Lotus Notes - Open file

Is there a way to find out who is using a Lotus Notes Database with Hyena 4.5?

    Thanks,

You should be able to right click on the database file itself, and select More Functions->Open By ... to see if it will show the users that have the file open.

Blank if the Notes database is in the Notes\Data environment.

If the database is in d:\temp; I am able to see who has the database opened.

      Thanks,

Do you know if the next version of Hyena will include this Lotus Notes Open file option?

If your using R5 and have admin rights just use the admin client.. there is heaps that the admin client can do that hyena is a long way off doing (concerning Lotus Notes).

Heyna (I believe) was never meant for Notes Administration.

We are unable to provide any specific functionality for integration with Lotus Notes

Re: Lotus Notes - Open file

With the Lotus Notes admin client; there seems to be a 20-character limitation in the database open column. I cannot see the name of the database, therefore, unable to find out who has it opened.

This is where a 3rd party utility such as Hyena would come handy if it had a Lotus Notes integration to it.

              Thanks,

                What about this view?

Re: Lotus Notes - Open file

This is the view I am talking about.

In the database column view; there seems to be a 20-character limitation.

If you have a path domainx\QSI\QSISYS01\databasename.nsf you can only see the first part (domainx\QSI\QSISYS01) and you don't see the databasename.nsf.

Therefore, if you have 100 users having databases that reside in that domainx\QSI\QSISYS01 directory, you don't know what user has what opened.

                  Thanks,

Re: Lotus Notes - Open file

I can drag the cursor to the extreme right but the path name does not increase.

I still cannot see the database name at the end.

I really believe there's a 20-character limitation to this view.

                      Thanks for your help,

                        sorry.. you are right..

The only advise I've been able to find is that the admin client is basicly a set of .nsf databases.. I'f you could open up the designer and find where thats set in the design you should be able to alter it..

                        Good luck..
If I find more info I'll let you know..

                          Thanks for all your help,

I will ask my Notes designer to take a look at the template.

I will post if we find the solution.
