  • Change Login Info for multiple services on multiple servers.

We would like to utilize Hyena to assist us with our regualr password change process. We have an NT that we use for BackupExec services to "logon as". This is one account that changes frequently. We have about 100 backup servers, and each server has 6 or 7 (this number varies) BackupExec services that we need to change. Obviously, the process is:
-Stop all 6 or 7 services
-Change the login Info for each service
    -Start all services

What is the most efficient method in which to achieve this?

    Thanks in advance,
    Ralph

These functions can be done by selecting your servers in the right window, then right-clicking and choosing More Functions.

Basically this can be done with two passes for each service. Your first pass will be to choose the Service Startup option under the More Functions menu. This is where you will change the password for the startup account for each service.

After you have changed the service startup information you can then choose the Service Control option which will allow you to restart the specified service.

You will already have the servers selected, so each service will require a pass to change the startup information, then a pass to restart the service. Hyena will do this step for each of the selected servers.

Sounds good. Is it possible to create some sort of group containing all of the servers affected in order to simplfy the selection process?

      Thanks,

If you are using v3.0 you can go into Object Manager under File->Manage Object View and add an Object Grouping. Then add your servers to that grouping.

Once added, you can simply double-click the object grouping that you created and Hyena will display the servers in the right window for you.

If you have any trouble adding the grouping, send an email to [email protected] and we will be happy to assist you.
