Generating Emails

Is there a mechanism (within Hyena or not) to generate an email based on a certain level of event being inserted into the event log?

You can use a product called Event Log Monitor to do this for you. You can read more about it at http://www.systemtools.com/elm

It has alerting capabilities including email and paging based on certain events occuring.
