  • Copying Printers

I am trying to duplicate all my printers from ServerA to ServerB using the Copy Printer function within Hyena.

It all seems easy enough, but whenever I try to copy my printer it tells me the printer name is invalid. My printers are named like this - CQ00_CS_031, etc.

I dont think it is the underscores as I've tried it on a printer name with dashes (-) instead.

    Any thoughts.

What is the exact wording of the error message you are getting?

What version of Hyena and NT are you running?

When you do the Copy Printer, what options do you select?

        Re: Copying Printers

Thanks for the followup information. The last part of this error message ("the printer name is invalid") is Microsoft's error. It may be a misleading error message, which happens. See if you can turn OFF the options to share the printer and to use the existing ports. Hyena does not attempt to create the printer share, or create the LPR ports, which is hard to do remotely.
