  • Any way to add options to Exchange 2010 Integraion?

Is there any way to add other options to the Exchange 2010 templates? When we create user mailboxes we always create an Archive mailbox on another database. Don't suppose there's a way for us to make that addition is there? Looks like we can only select the Mailbox Database.

At this time we don't have any options for creating archive mailboxes.

        Sandy:

Can you tell us more about how you do this ? Maybe the steps or the Powershell command you are using to create the Archive ?

Sure. Normally, we use the Exchange Management Console to do it. We use the Wizard that lets us specify a specific Mailbox Database and Retention Policy. The PowerShell for that part looks like this for creating a mailbox for an existing user:

Enable-Mailbox -Identity 'ourdomain.com/IT/Service Accounts/SRV_AA' -Alias 'SRV_AA' -Database 'Mailbox Database 6' -RetentionPolicy 'Default Archive and Retention Policy'

Then, in the console, we have to Enable an Archive. We specify a different database here. I'm working on trying to cobble together a PowerShell script with some variables to stick in everyone's Hyena - Tools so that they can just right-click the user object, after it's created and then have PowerShell create everything. Seems like it should be doable.

Just to update you on this, we are looking into adding both of these features now. I'll let you know if I have any questions. Thanks for the suggestion !
