  • Primary SMTP Address

I am looking for a way to list the Primary SMTP Address for all users in an OU container.

I believe you can get what you are looking for by right-clicking on All Users and choosing Query Active Directory->User(Detailed-Contact). When this finishes you'll look in the right window for Email.

There's also a proxyaddresses field that you can add to this query by going to File->Manage Object View->AD queries. Click on the User(Detailed-Contact) query. In the lower right change the Attribute Category to Exchange 2000 Attributes. In the window beneath that find and add proxyaddresses.

Click OK to save that and run again using the first instructions above.

I must be missing something, when I tried this for a user that has multiple SMTP addresses, it does not appear to list the "Primary" address, just one of the addresses (although I am not sure which one.)

They are listed there, and separated by a ^ symbol. I believe the primary is the one with the capitalized SMTP: in front of it.
