  • Mailbox Rights - Error

I'm accessing the properties of a user. On the Exchange Advanced tab I'm accessing Mailbox Rights. After clicking on Add in the Mailbox Rights dialogue I receive this error: "The program cannot open the required dialog box because it cannot determine whether the computer named "DOMAIN" is joined to a domain." After closing this error, I receive "Undable to display the user selection dialog. The RPC server is unavailable."
I can use Active Directory Users and Computers MMC to access the same dialogue boxes and successfully add a user and give a user mailbox rights (same dialogue as Hyena, just accessing it a different way). I'm using a WinXP SP1 client, Hyena 6.0 D. Exchange System Manger works properly on the client. Windows 2000 Server Active directory, Exchange 2000 SP3.

    Re: Mailbox Rights - Error

How are you getting to this user? Meaning, are you going through your domain object, then All Users, or through Containers/OUs, or do you have your own Container object that you created in Object Manager, etc?

      Re: Mailbox Rights - Error

I am getting to the user through my own container object (an OU for users). Didn't even think accessing the object differently would make a difference (obviously). I drilled down from the domain object, and I did NOT receive an error. The work-around is satisfactory. Thanks.

The service mentioned above has always been enabled.
